Rather than purchase a new unit I'm looking for a used one--I like the Kubota tractors--they appear to be of a comfortable size. These units are expensive and I am looking for a used unit of some type. I've heard I should stay away from more exotic types of tractors like Mitsubishi or Ford etc yet these units are the most common in the used market under 2,500.00.
I can get a used Kubota lawn tractor , 21hp w/48"cut for ~$900.00--is that ok for 2 to 3 mowable acres?

Yeah, that will be fine. You can't go wrong with a Kubota and they are not "exotic" brands. Neither are Fords but Kubotas are really, really solid. A small lawn B-series Kubota with a belly mower or a pull-behind should work great for that amount of land. You can
